Garland and Woodley. This is only a couple of blocks from the last picture although the tour made a stop back in the loop.
The Mt Crest Loop was the first trolleybus route expansion as part of a great plan to put more trolleybuses out and eliminate diesel and trolleybuses alternating on the same routes.
Before the Mt Crest Loop Rt 1 ran a diesel from Townview, covered on Saturday, and then ran across Third where it split off and ran up into this neighborhood.
The trolleybus ran the next trip from Drexel on the west side to Murray Loop.
The trips alternated with a trolleybus and then a diesel during the daytime and then operated with a diesel only at night and on Sundays.
Mt Crest allowed for Rt 1 to operate as a trolleybus all the time, until the route changes in 2007 May 23, 2010
